Let all who are
spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I
believe God will make it plain to you. But we must hold on to the progress we
have already made. Philippians 3:15-16
What are the spiritually mature
agreeing on? Going back to the previous verse, the agreement is: “So let's keep focused on that goal, those of us who want
everything God has for us” (MSG). So, what happens when other things take priority or when
we question God’s direction for our lives? God will clear up our blurry vision.
God will “make it plain.”
God will
remove anything from our lives that hinders our ability to reach the goal. Some
people take that as “God doesn’t want me to have any fun.” While God is more
concerned about our holiness than our happiness, God is not opposed to fun. In
fact, a major theme of Philippians is joy!
Paul
encourages to “hold on to the progress we
have already made.” God is still moving us forward. What we don’t
understand, He will clear up.
What
doesn’t make sense in your life right now? How might God be using that to get
you to the goal?
